Empowering new beekeepers

New beekeepers often need extra help, especially if they don't belong to a BBKA club or have a mentor. Without proper guidance, colonies can swarm, starve, or fall victim to disease and pests. Our beekeeping classes offer vital knowledge to help cut losses and ensure a successful journey. Look out for upcoming beekeeping taster days at our base in Higham, Kent. These will include suiting up after a short class on preparing smokers safely and using hive tools, followed by hands-on experience with empty hives and then live colonies, where you'll likely see the queen, workers, and even some dancing bees. Classes are limited to 10 people, with bee suits and gloves provided. Wellies or boots are advised to be brought by yourselves. You will even experience taking out frames of bees with brood in all stages and potentially witness a bee hatch.
